In this episode I'm joined by Patty Lyons, a nationally recognized knitting teacher and technique expert who is known for teaching the “why” not just the “how” in her pursuit of training the “mindful knitter”. She specializes in sweater design and sharing her love of the much-maligned subjects of gauge and blocking. Patty teaches nationally at guilds & knitting shows around the country such as Vogue Knitting LIVE, STITCHES, and the Knit and Crochet Show and her popular classes can also be found online at Interweave, Annie’s and Craftsy. Through his amazing research, Dr. Krag has discovered that the key to curing cancer actually lies within our own body. The ultimate goal of this program is to raise 1 million dollars by October 2015 to begin treating those afflicted by this terrible disease. It's time to say yes to your knitting. Forget about NO! You're in for a treat with this episode, which was first published on The Morning Cooldown podcast, www.morningcooldown.comand was one of the most viral episodes to date! I thought you'd love it, so I'm sharing it here for all you Power Purlers to enjoy! In this episode I chat with Steven Berg, also known as StevenBe and knitwear designer Stephen West, on a pit stop during the Stephen & Steven Tour, in February 2015. They live life by the beat of their own drum, and deconstruct the rules. Improvisation and using patterns "loosely" is their mantra. In this first edition of Ask Kara & Tabetha Anything, Kara and Tabetha chit chat about the design proposal process and the key components that go into a professional knitting proposal. Kara and Tabetha also talk about the importance of a clear sketch, a swatch, the schematic and why it’s so important to articulate your vision clearly and they also answer one of the most daunting questions new designers often ask: I want to start designing, but I don’t understand how to grade my pattern?
